Board Meeting

June 16, 2008

 

Held at Lund Fire Dept.

 

Present: Roger Stewart Chairman, Joey Edlin 1st Supervisor,

Pat Scharr Clerk & Sharon Stewart Treas.

 

Absent: Lindsay Bergquist

 

Meeting called to order @ 7:00pm by Roger Stewart

 

1.      Pat read minutes from the May 19, meeting. Joe made a motion to approve the minutes Roger Seconded.

2.      Treasurer’s report read by Sharon; Total assets on April 30, were $18,642.13 Deposits for the month $144.38, Disbursements for the month $3,909.48 for a total of $14,877.03 on May 30, 2008. Joe made a motion to approve Roger Seconded...

3.      Lindsay Appeared at 7:05 PM

4.      Road Discussion:  Joe was wondering about the culvert on Moravian Road because we will be in the area. Roger thought that we needed to wait until we have more revenue.  Joe also asked if the arm could be out to mow on the corner of Pleasant corner & Foster Road.  There are trees growing up again. Roger said that he would ask them at the county.

5.      The Public Hearing on The Liquor License for Herdie Baisden was called to order to approve the application for a liquor license for Herdie Baisden and the Maiden Rock Winery and Cidery for the period of July 01, 2008 through June 30, 2009.  The charge for the liquor license will be $50.00.  A vote was taken 3 in Favor 0 apposed. Lindsay made a motion to approve Joe seconded.  Also the two bartenders applied for an operator’s license. Anthony Edlin and Luke Hofmeister. Lindsay made a motion to charge $10.00 for the operator’s license Joe seconded. All in favor of proving the operator’s license.

6.      Mary Anne Svoboda spoke regarding the Smart Growth.  The surveys will be sent out tomorrow.  Also she will have a news article published at the end of each milestone.

7.      Bills for the month: Pepin County Hwy Dept. $7,503.27 Lindsay made a motion to approve Joe Seconded.

8.      Gary the owner of the former Tuschaus land was here to let us know that he is trying to get the state to purchase the land on the north side of Hwy 35. He is also planning to put in some permanent camping sites on the South side and maybe some single family homes.

9.      Joe Edlin talked about the Fire hall sign for notices. The sign was donated by John Danneker who was kind enough to build and install the sign. We will send him a thank you.

 

Joe made a motion to adjourn the meeting: Lindsay seconded.  Meeting adjourned at 8:00pm.
