Meeting called to order by Roger Stewart at 7.00pm

 

Present:  Roger Stewart Chairman, Joe Edlin First Supervisor, Lindsay Bergquist Second Supervisor, Sharon Stewart Treasurer, Patty Scharr Clerk.

 

1. Minutes for the Feb.16, 2009 meeting read by Patty Scharr.  Joe made a motion to approve the minutes Lindsay Seconded. 

 

2.  Treasurers report was read by Sharon Stewart. The January 31, 2009 balance on had was $140,951.86. Deposits in Feb. were $248,413.86 and the Feb. Distributions were $342,823.98 for a total balance of $46,541.74 on Feb.31, 2009.  Joe made a motion to approve the Treasurers report Lindsay Seconded.

 

3.  Mary Ann Collins-Svoboda handed out a report from each committee. Each group will have one more working group meeting. The next step is for the committee heads to meet together with Mary Ann to put together a loose leaf form presentation covering all the aspects of the plan.  After that we will need to have a public meeting to give the people one last chance to have input on the plan.  After that public meeting the committees will meet again to put together the document that can be presented to the board.

 

4.  Road discussion: Joe was wondering if we could budget in a small portion each year to set aside for crushed rock so that we do not end up in the hole next time we need to purchase. We have an excess of $11,000 from last year.  In 2007 we spent $31,000.00 on our crushed rock purchase.  Jo made a motion to put $5,500.00 in a CD for future crushed rock and budget in more next year. Lindsay seconded.  Lindsay brought up an issue that trees are being pushed into the ditch by Jim Mercer on Stewart Road.  The board will go and take a look at the ditch to see if it will be a problem with the county trucks before any thing is said to Jim Mercer.  Roger asked that they please watch for soft spots on the gravel roads so can plan to have gravel hauled.

 

5.  Bills for the month: Durand publishing $78.34, Pepin County highway Dept. $4,760.52 Mary Fayerweather $37.00 for the February election. Lindsay made a motion to pay the bills Joe Seconded.

 

6. Joe made a motion to set the date of the Annual meeting to the 3rd Monday in April, (April 20th, 2009) at 7:00pm Lindsay seconded.

 

7.  Annual audit was done by Roger, Lindsay and Joe.  All ok.

 

8.  Lindsay made a motion to adjourn the meeting Joe seconded. Meeting adjourned at 8:35 pm.

 

Next regular town meeting will be 3rd Monday in April; April 21, 2008.
